General Information

When is the event?
Sunday 21st August 2022

Registration!

You can register online at www.surftostadium.co.nz If you prefer to register in person, you can stop into the Sport Otago office in the Sargood Centre at 40 Logan Park Drive and register there. Sport Otago is open from 8.30am till 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

What time does the event start?
10km run or walk: 10.00am
4km run or walk: 10.30am

Where does the event start and finish?
10km run or walk: Starts at Kettle Park and finishes at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
4km run or walk: Starts and finishes at Forsyth Barr Stadium. (Please check the map for
the route which follows the Ravensbourne – Maia shared pathway).

What is the cost of the event?
10km run or walk: $30.00.
(Schools or businesses with a team of 20 or more can take advantage of a $25.00 per person deal, please contact Isaac Smith directly for this offer, at ismith@sportotago.co.nz).
4km run or walk:
Adults: $15.00.
Kids: $5.00.
Family 4km (two adults, two kids): $30.00.
Children two and under are free.

What if I don’t have a credit or debit card?
We can accept cash payment registrations, at Sport Otago.  You can find us at the Sargood Centre, 40 Logan Park Drive, Dunedin.  Reception is open between 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

When do online entries close?
Sunday 21st August 2022 at 7.00am.

Can I register on the day?
You can register on the day with cash payments only. Please allow plenty of time before the event starts.

On the day registration price:
10km run or walk: $40.00.
4km run or walk: Adults: $25.00.
4km run or walk: Kids: $10.00.
Family 4km run or walk: $50.00.
Under 3 years old are free.
Kids are 16 years and under.

Where do I get my race pack from?
Race packs can be picked up from the Sargood Centre Gallery, 40 Logan Park Drive, Dunedin on either Friday 19th August from 10.00am-4.00pm or Saturday 20th August from 9.00am-12.00pm. Also, race packs can be picked up the day of the race at either Dunedin Rugby Club rooms or at the Stadium. 

Will I get my time at the end of the race?
You will not be individually given a time in this race; however, a clock will be placed at the finish line for self-timing. This event is a fun run and walk, and the challenge is completing the course. You are welcome to time yourself using your own device.

Course Information

Is the course accessible for wheelchairs?
Wheelchair users are welcome to take part in this event, however, we advise you to check the suitability of the course and decide whether this will work for you. The 10km event goes across sports fields, however the 4km event is wheelchair friendly.

Is the course open to scooters, skateboards, bikes, roller-blades, prams, and buggies?
For Health and Safety reasons, please don’t bring skateboards, roller-blades or bikes larger than 12-inch. We have added an option for the 4km course only in 2022 for kids aged under 6 to use a scooter or 12-inch bike. As this is a family friendly event, you are welcome to take part with buggies and prams.

Can I bring my dog?
Guide-dogs are welcome on the race track for those who require them.

Are drink stations available on the course?
There will be a drink station at the Harbour Mouth Molars on Portsmouth Drive and again at the finish line at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

Are toilets available on the course?
There are toilets available at the start and finish line.  There is a public toilet in Wharf Street and at Bayfield Park.

Will the course be closed to traffic?
All roads are open to traffic, therefore please obey the traffic rules at all times. Traffic Management Officials will be placed on the course.

Has the course been officially measured?
The course hasn’t been measured for official purposes.  You are welcome to use your own device to measure your personal distance travelled.

Transport

Where can I park my vehicle?
For 10km entrants, there is a range of parking options in the vicinity of the Logan Park area and at Forsyth Barr stadium carpark.

Are buses provided to help get to the start or finish
There will be several buses running from 8.50am until 9.20am transporting participants from the Forsyth Barr Stadium to the start line at Kettle Park, for the 10:00am start. This will allow you to have your car parked at the Forsyth Barr Stadium where the race will finish. If you need a transport back to the start line, the buses will be operating rides back to the start line after the race.
